Description: A permit is considered
expired if no inspections have occurred on a project within
180 days from permit issuance, if the building or work
authorized by such permit is suspended or abandoned at any
time after the work is commenced for a period of 180 days,
or if the work is not completed within 730 days from permit
issuance. Examples:
If the permit has expired and all inspections other than
final inspections for all trades are completed a new permit
to final the expired permit may be issued to allow final
inspections.
If the permit has expired and inspections other than finals have not been
approved, then a new permit must be obtained for the
scope of work to be completed. If new codes have
been adopted, revised plans that comply with the
current codes must be submitted for plan review that
cover the work to be completed. All work that has
not been inspected must comply with the current
codes.

Applications are accepted by the Building Safety Division.

What to bring:
- 1 Building Permit Application
- 3 sets of complete building plans
- 1 set of State Energy forms.
- 1 set of scaled floor plans for the County
Assessor.
- 2 sets of structural calculations.
- 3 sets of landscape and irrigation plans
including building elevations
- 3 sets of civil plans and grading/drainage plans
- Payment for any necessary
fees

Permit Issuance
When your plans are approved and at the time you pay your fees, the Building Safety Division will
issue the required permits for your project.
Schedule Inspections
Before
covering up or building over any permitted work, you will
need to call and request an inspection. Inspections are
required to ensure that all work was completed correctly,
based on building and safety codes currently in effect.
If an encroachment permit was required for your
project, schedule off-site inspections with the Public
Works Department at (209) 342-2284.

Completion
After your final inspection, your project will be
considered complete.
