  The Modesto Arch, Circa 1920
The arch at Ninth and I Streets was erected by the Modesto Business Men's Association in 1911 to promote economic development. The slogan "Water Wealth Contentment Health" was chosen as part of a contest. The architect was Bernard Joseph.
