Road Work to Impact Portion of Needham Avenue July 16th through 27th

A pavement overlay project on Needham Avenue will begin on Monday, July 16th, and continue through Thursday, July 27th.  Needham Avenue between L Street and College Avenue will be impacted, potentially creating delays and requiring changes in traffic patterns.  Motorists are advised to proceed with caution and pay attention to signage.  Drivers should use alternate routes when possible to avoid delays.

Funded by State Proposition 1B funds, the Needham Avenue project will include the removal of the current pavement, installation of new underground traffic detection loops, and re-pavement of this section of roadway.  This type of work typically extends the durability of a street surface for as much as 20 years.

Businesses and homeowners in the impacted area have been contacted regarding this project and electronic reader boards are in place to alert frequent drivers on this section of Needham Avenue to the upcoming road work.
