MODESTO POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING AN ATTEMPTED KIDNAPPING OF A 13 YEAR OLD CHILD

Modesto, CA - Modesto Police are investigating the attempted kidnapping of a 13-year old female.  The suspect attempted to pull the female into his car, as she was walking home from school.  The incident occurred Thursday afternoon, and police are seeking the public’s help to identify the suspect.

On Thursday at 4:05 PM, Modesto Police received a call of an attempted kidnapping of a 13-year old female, as she was walking home from school.  The incident occurred at approximately 3:15 PM in the 2700 block of Mill Oak Drive.  As the victim was walking home from school, she saw a Hispanic Male Adult, driving a tan 4- door med-size passenger vehicle, pull over in front of her.  She crossed over to the other side of the street and noticed he made a U-turn in front of her and stopped in the middle of the street.  The suspect got out of the vehicle and walked up to her and grabbed her right arm. The victim pulled away and ran a few feet, but was again grabbed by the suspect on her shoulders.  The suspect pulled her back and began to pull the victim towards his car.  She was able to fend him off, break from his grasp, and run home.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic Male Adult between 30-40 yrs, with shaved hair on side of his head, and brown 2 inch “afro” style hair on top.  He is about 5’-10” and had a medium build.

Officers have canvassed the neighborhood and have been looking for any witnesses.  The Modesto City Schools and Sylvan School District have been notified and tomorrow School Police Officers from Modesto Police Officers will be assigned to provide extra patrol in the area.
