Nick Pinhey - Biography

Nick Pinhey was originally appointed the City of Modesto's Director of Public Works in January 2006 and was subsequently appointed the Director of Utility Planning & Projects in November 2009. Nick has 32 years of municipal experience and has served as the Director of Public Works for the cities of Patterson, Merced and Tracy. Nick has also worked for the City of Turlock’s Water Quality Control Department.

Nick holds a Doctorate from the University of Southern California’s School of Policy, Planning and Development. He also has a Masters of Public Administration degree from the University of Southern California, a Masters Degree from California State University, Stanislaus and is certified by the State of California as a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator, Water Treatment Plant Operator and a Water Distribution Operator.

In addition to his experience and education, Nick has served as President of the California Water Environment Association (CWEA) and as a CWEA Board member for nine years. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Water Environment Federation from 1999-2002.
